KeynotesMonday, October 2, 20068–9:30 am — Keynote & Breakfast
Dr. Charles Scott was born adjacent to an isolated coal mining camp where the Appalachian Mountains run through Kentucky and Virginia. Much of his childhood was spent sharecropping in remote rural areas far removed from mainstream America. He earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, a M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling, an Ed.S. in School Administration, and a Doctorate in Supervision and Administration. Dr. Charles Scott knows the importance of proven instructional strategies but, in his true and personal story, leaves that area to others as he emphasizes his conviction that all children, even those burdened by neglect and abuse, can succeed through the help and expectations of a few caring adults.
