This strand focuses on program elements implemented over the past 20 years in California schools that transform school culture and have a wide range of benefits, including dropout prevention.
Best Practices
Schools that scored in the top 10% on their CSS annual report (Shining Star Schools*) will present sessions on some of the strongest aspects of their programs.

* What is a Shining Star School?

SB65 Comprehensive Student Support schools that scored well in this year’s annual peer review of their application and showed significant gains in academic improvement by meeting their API and AYP targets were designated Shining Stars. These schools will be presenting throughout the conference so that you can hear firsthand how they achieved their outstanding results.
